Bag University Zipper Boxy Pouch
Sew your own Boxy Zipper Pouch with this easy-to-follow PDF sewing pattern! This has been one of my most requested projects, and it’s perfect for confident beginners who want to practice zippers. These handy pouches make wonderful gifts and are ideal for storing makeup, sewing notions, travel items, or everyday essentials.
The pattern includes step-by-step instructions with photos, cutting measurements for three sizes (small, medium, and large), and helpful tips for getting a professional finish. You can use quilted fabric, add patchwork panels, or try your favorite fabrics to create a one-of-a-kind pouch.
Finished Sizes:

| Requirements: | SEWING MACHINE & BASICS Sewing machine in good working order Power cord and foot pedal Machine manual (if available) Basic sewing feet (standard and zipper foot recommended) New needle (size 80/12 or 90/14 suggested) CUTTING TOOLS Rotary cutter Sharp fabric scissors Cutting mat Acrylic ruler (6” x 24” recommended) GENERAL SUPPLIES Straight pins or clips (clips are highly recommended for bags) Seam ripper Fabric marking tool (chalk or washable pen) Measuring tape Small iron and pressing mat (optional but helpful) FABRIC & NOTIONS (Varies by project – details provided per class) Exterior fabric Lining fabric Coordinating thread Interfacing (woven, fusible fleece, etc.) Zippers (sizes will vary) Bag hardware (D-rings, sliders, magnetic snaps, etc.) We will guide you on exactly what is needed for each bag as the class progresses.
